This Privacy Policy describes how Prompt XXL ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Chrome extension and web application (collectively, the "Services").
The Prompt XXL extension adds a sidebar to supported AI chat websites (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity). It does not read, collect, or transmit the content of your AI conversations or any other content of the pages you visit. The extension runs only on a fixed list of supported AI sites and executes no remote code.
Free Users: Your prompts are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. We do not have access to this data.
Usage counters: The extension counts how many prompts you have copied and remembers when you started using it, only in your browser. It uses these numbers to decide when to ask for a rating (at most twice). They are never sent to us.
Pro Users: Your prompts are encrypted and stored in Google Cloud Firestore. This enables sync across devices.
Our website promptxxl.com uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. It does not set cookies or store anything in your browser, and it does not track you across other websites. Cloudflare, which also delivers our website, processes the technical data needed for this (such as the page you visit, your browser type and your country) on our behalf.
When you remove the extension, Chrome opens a page on our website (promptxxl.com/uninstall/). The extension adds three details to the page address: its version number, its language and whether you used the free plan, Pro or Pro with cloud sync. No prompts and no account data are included. If you answer the short survey on that page, we store your answer and comment, these three details and, only if you enter it, your email address so we can reply. We do not link your answer to your IP address or to an account. We use it to improve the extension and delete it automatically after 12 months.
Prompts you publish to the public library are visible to all users, together with aggregate like and copy counts. Liking or copying a public prompt is linked to your account so counts stay accurate. You can request removal of a prompt you published at any time by contacting us.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data with:
Our service providers (Google Firebase, Stripe and Cloudflare) may process your data on servers located outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except as required by law.
Our Services are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
